Steam Train Ride

Bro and Sis got me a ride on the plate of a train ie where you are on the engine itself.
The event all took place on the Watercress line. Took some video and this is available on YouTube
Initial trouble though occured when I forgot to read the instructions. No trainers allowed, so borrowed Michaels posh shoes. Well dont want to get my old trainers dirty!!

Anyway if any one else is thinking this might be fun (to ride on the engine itself) I would go sooner rather than later. It turns out that the Nanny state is about to try and stop these rides (form filling and hesath and safety etc).

While we were there, a spitfire and Lancaster plane few by. Sorry the zoom on the camera was not good enough really.

The Bus rally was also worth going to. So all in all, if you want a fun day out, try the watercress line

Camping weekend

Well we have arrived at that time of year when we organise some get away weekends. However this year it seems that there are more difficulties than in the past. When ringing up various camp sites, we now find that there are a set of restrictions. More camp sites are banning groups due to problems in the past with other people. Others dont allow kids (yes hard to beleive I know but true of two I rang up).
Anyway bro' found us a camp site without the restrictions and so now we are booked in.

St Albans-on-sea - garage progress

Well at long last, it did not rain over the weekend and we got some more of my garage built.
Apart from Michael trying to fly of the ladder (he failed by the way, must be the feathers failing).

Anyway the building is now above head hieght all the way around and we also have started putting the ceiling timbers in
